Watering Recommendations by Season

Always use the Cycle and Soak method to water. Run your system for short times, but multiple start times on your watering day. The Cycle and Soak method will eliminate runoff.

Spring Watering (average temperature is above 70 degrees)

One-half (1/2) inch of water per week. (These instructions are for turf grass only, not bedding areas)

One-half (1/2) inch of water can be achieved by watering one-quarter (1/4) inch twice per week, or two-tenths (2/10) inch three times per week. Actual rainfall counts and should be used as part of the watering measurement this time of year.

Summer Watering (average temperature is above 90 degrees)

One (1) inch of water per week. (These instructions are for turf grass only, not bedding areas)

One (1) inch of water can be achieved by watering one-half (1/2) inch twice per week, or one-third (1/3) inch three times per week. Actual rainfall counts and should be used as part of the watering measurement this time of year.

Fall and Winter Watering (average temperature is below 70 degrees)

One-quarter (1/4) inch of water per week. (These instructions are for turf grass only, not bedding areas)

One-quarter (1/4) inch of water can be achieved by watering one-eighth (1/8) inch twice per week, or one-quarter (1/4) inch once per week. Actual rainfall counts and should be used as part of the watering measurement this time of year.
